The Buddhist Society of India is a Religious Public Trust founded by Bodhisatva Bharat Ratna
Babasahab Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar in the year 1954 and got it registered on 04th May, 1955 under
the Indian Societies Registration Act, 1860 vide Registration No. 3227. Later, as per the
requirements it was also registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 (now Maharashtra Public
Trust Act, 1950) vide Registration No. F-982 (Bom) dated 06th July, 1977.
The chief aim and objective of The Buddhist Society of India is to spread Social and Moral Teachings
of The Buddha in India and abroad. The roots of establishment of The Buddhist Society of India lies
in the First Conference of The World Fellowship of Buddhist held in the year 1954 now having its
headquarters at Thailand Bangkok.
The Buddhist Society of India is one of the Regional Centre of The World Fellowship of Buddhist,
Thailand, Bangkok and having Standing Secretary post of Buddhist Pancasila Samadana Committee of The
WFB, Thailand. The Buddhist Society of India is working on establishment of World Buddhist
University, Buddhist Seminary and Buddhist Health Care System within a span of 5 years of time.
To establish World Buddhist University in India based on Top Universities of the World. To establish Buddhist Seminaries in each and every state of India to train the Buddhist preachers in India.
To revive the Social and Moral Teachings of Buddha and make India a casteless society.
To facilitate the creation of an ecosystem for children to flourish within their adoptive and birth families.Respect for Human Rights, Commitment, Transparency, Integrity, Excellence, Compassion for all living beings. To bridge the gap between urban and rural for the country India.
